The Hugene is all about a purposeful “travel diet” – ultra-agile and poppy, it carves playful lines into otherwise forgettable trails, holds its own when things get rough, and lets you cover ground with serious efficiency. Because let’s be honest – sometimes, that’s all it takes for maximum stoke!

The new Hugene nails modern trail geometry. For a 140 mm bike, the slack 64.8° head angle offers precise handling and solid downhill stability, while the steep seat angle puts you in a comfortable, upright pedaling position. The low bottom bracket and moderately long chainstays give you that in-the-bike feeling.
The Hugene may save on travel, but not on capability. Though it’s our lightest and most efficient bike, it’s still a true PROPAIN: geometry, kinematics, and components are built to be pushed to the limit. And anyone who thinks less travel means less action is in for a surprise.
With a low overall weight and tuned anti-squat, the Hugene pedals very efficiently. Optional lightweight trail tires can further enhance this characteristic. Ready for long tours and distant trails under your own power.
Whether on trail, gravel, or asphalt, the large 29″ wheels roll smoother and are therefore the perfect choice for our trail bike. Geometry and weight make the Hugene so agile and playful that we see no advantage in offering a MIX option. So: 29″ only!
Thanks to the steep and straight seat tube combined with a compact frame size, very long dropper posts fit in the Hugene. In size S, a 200 mm SRAM Reverb AXS can be fully dropped, letting you lower the saddle further for maximum freedom of movement on descents.
With the PROPAIN Frame Storage, you can securely store essential gear inside the frame. Our large locking system is easy to open—even with a bottle in hand. It’s dust-, mud-, and waterproof and fits snugly and quietly in the frame. Two bags—Tube & Tool Bag—provide practical storage space.
The essence of PROPAIN is our PRO10 frame concept. We’ve fine-tuned the popular kinematics and created the perfect balance for our short-travel trail bike. Efficient pedaling without bobbing, precise responsiveness, and a smooth progression that, together with the tuned shocks, make the 130 mm travel fully usable.
You can choose between the classic internal cable routing through the frame and the Acros solution via the headset cover. Both options allow for any stem to be installed. Alternatively, you can opt for the Sixpack Integrated Cable Routing with full integration and a CNC-machined stem—Made in Germany—giving you a clean, completely silent cockpit with a super sleek look.
For our Hugene, we make the upper link of the PRO10 system from carbon to optimize frame weight. The carbon link is painted in the frame color and completes the design.
Ideal cable routing and smart frame protectors made from thermoplastic with air-filled bumps deliver absolute silence on the trail and keep you fully focused.
For a modern carbon frame built to withstand ambitious riding over the long haul, using just good carbon material isn’t enough. Instead, it requires a blend of different carbon fibers and fabrics, each with unique properties to meet the demands. PROPAIN carbon frames are made from pre-impregnated (prepreg) carbon sheets, ensuring an optimal resin ratio and significantly higher strength values. Each layer has special properties and specific roles in different parts of the frame. Based on requirements for stiffness, flexibility, impact resistance, weight, strength, and stress direction, various fibers and fabrics are used.

The size of the frame plays an important role in the bike’s performance and, above all, in its enjoyment. Select the frame size you need from the table. If you are between two sizes, then you only have to decide whether you like it playful or smooth. For smooth riding, choose the larger frame size, for playful riding, choose the smaller frame size.

The adjustable seat post is arguably one of the most ingenious inventions of recent years. For optimal performance on the trail, the correct measurement is crucial. The following table shows the recommended minimum inseam for each frame size. Please note that this is only a recommendation, as the specific seating position depends largely on personal habits and preferences, and the height of your saddle can also influence it by several centimeters.
