The electrified version of the Japanese name Kano. His character is described as versatile, adventurous and visionary, as is our bike. He is rebellious and fights against existing rules and conventions.
We also had to free ourselves from some conventions before we developed our EKANO. Once you let go, there are hardly any limits to the fun you can have on the bike.
The versatility of the EKANO is its greatest strength. Thanks to the multitude of customization options from suspension to wheel sizes to freely configurable equipment, the EKANO's area of application covers pretty much everything from all-mountain tours to e-enduro racing.
Combined with a drive unit from Shimano 100%, the EKANO is our definition of a perfect and service-oriented E-Enduro.
The clear design language with the brand new integrated Shimano 8035 battery makes conventional e-bikes with attached batteries look like dinosaurs from a bygone era. Lightweight, multi-butted tubes made of 6061 and 6066 T6 aluminum ensure light-footed handling.
The lateral stiffness of the frame was adjusted several times during development to generate the perfect balance of stiffness and flexibility that is so important for enduro bikes and significantly influences downhill performance.
Depending on the configuration, the EKANO is available as both Short Travel (150mm rear / 150mm front) and Long Travel (165mm rear / 170mm front).
As you can see at first glance, the suspension system of the EKANO is very different from our other bikes. Here, too, we had to leave our own conventions behind and think anew due to space constraints. However, the performance-determining parameters of the suspension were retained and provide the well-known "Propain feeling".
The rear triangle is designed for 30% progression, which harmonizes perfectly with both steel spring dampers and air dampers.
We are deliberately breaking new ground with the anti-squat and keeping it relatively high with 130% to counteract the compression of the suspension on steep climbs. This prevents the front wheel from rearing up even on the steepest climbs.
The EKANO offers the possibility of using both 27.5" and 29" wheels. Even the popular mixed combination of a 27.5" wheel at the rear and a 29" wheel at the front can be installed. To ensure that the geometry harmonizes with all wheel sizes, a flip chip was installed in the shock linkage, which ensures the necessary geometry compensation. Our recommendation: 27.5" or mixed for frame size S / M and 29" or mixed for frame size L / XL.
The crux of an E-Enduro is to master both the steepest climbs and to perform on technical downhills. The combination of a steep seat angle, moderately long reach and chainstays and a flat steering angle manages this balancing act best.
This also ensures agile handling on flat trails, which suddenly become a completely new experience with the powerful support.
When it comes to the drive, we are the first manufacturer to use the new, lighter integrated 8035 battery from Shimano combined with the 8000 motor from the same company. The drive unit is therefore a complete Shimano system, which offers various advantages should the system need servicing. Shimano's global service network is available to every customer.

As with all current models, we no longer offer fixed equipment. We only give recommendations from start to performance to high-end, where you can adjust all parts to your wishes. The price of the EKANO is between 4100€ and 6300€.
Despite the E, the EKANO remains a thoroughbred Propain. All configuration options that you know from our bikes will also be possible here.
