Tour, Trail, Allmountain? What now? The new Hugene is the answer. A bike with 140/150mm of travel that always fits. Whether it is a quick trail loop, an all-day tour or even an alpine cross. The Hugene is a summiteer on the uphills and a rocket on the downhills. One bike to rule them all.
A lightweight carbon frame paired with large 29″ wheels helps you to conquer every steep uphill section efficiently. And the suspension travel of 140/150 mm ensures that you will always be in control on your way down. With the combination of smooth running and agile handling, the Hugene is the perfect daily bike. So you get even more fun out of every trail, no matter what terrain.
More flow even on technical terrain? Not a problem with our Hugene. The large wheels guarantee smooth running and excellent rollover behavior even at high speed. It’s playful character lets you fly from corner to corner without ever losing control. Whether rocky, rooty or sandy, with the Hugene you are agile enough to master any trail.
Comfort! Grip! Smooth running! We continue to rely on 29″ wheels for our trail bike. The advantages are obvious: The larger wheels ensure better rolling behavior and rough terrain can be rolled over more quickly than with smaller wheels. The larger contact area of the 29″ tires also improves traction resulting in better grip. The longer wheelbase makes the bike more stable and the larger wheels store more energy during the ride, which keeps you going faster for longer. And that is exactly what we want to achieve with our trailbike: speed, smoothness and comfort both uphill and downhill.
You prefer smooth running and usually do longer rides? Then the Hugene CF 29″ is exactly the right choice for you!
We will help you on your way to your personal dream bike. The three build kits are our recommendations from us to you, as this is exactly how we would build our own bikes. We prepared a well-thought-out predefined spec for all purposes and every budget, with which you instantly are “ready to shred”. However, we at PROPAIN always remain “custom” so you can still choose individual components to customize your dream bike in our configurator.

Good looks are not everything. Our Hugene also impresses with its inner values and smart details. With quick-change chain guard, durable bearings and internal cable routing, you’ll get more time on the trail than in your garage.
To keep your frame protected at all times, our Hugene comes with a custom chainstay and downtube protectors. The chainstay protector absorbs chain vibrations and minimizes noise.
The robust Acros frame bearings are additionally protected by our PROPAIN dirt shields. An extra seal protects the underlying bearings from dust, water and dirt.
We installed run cable ducts in our Hugene frame to protect the cables from dirt and eliminate annoying rattling sounds, but also to make the train installation particularly easy.
Whether pedaling uphill or going down fast, our Hugene always keeps a cool head. And off the trail it’s just a natural beauty.

By combining a flat steering angle of 65.5° with a steep seat angle of 76.5° (effective) and the floating shock, which is centrally mounted in the bike, we achieve exactly this: easy pedalling on the uphill with a lot of pressure on the front wheel and an optimal weight distribution on the downhill. A characteristic that you notice once you get on the bike and never want to miss again afterwards. Remarkably, this geometry change has significantly improved both the uphill and downhill performance. A reach of 476 mm with a chainstay length of 445 mm at size L makes the new Hugene smoother and more agile than before and creates a noticeable balance.

Due to its geometry and frame characteristics, the Hugene is only designed for the use of 29″ wheels. Therefore it is not possible to mount wheels in 27.5″.
With its 29″ wheels, our trail bike is your ideal companion for longer tours or for your local home trails. The large wheels ensure optimal climbing characteristics in the uphill as well as solid performance over sticks and stones in the downhill. We are therefore convinced that 29″ wheels are the better choice for this field of use.
The mount is used to fix straps, tools, tubes or other spare parts that could be helpful on your tour.
Attaching drinking bottles up to 0.5 l is no problem. With larger frame sizes, 0.7 l bottles can also be stowed.
The bike comes with three stem spacers, uncut handlebars and all the instructions you need.
We offer further equipment like pedals in our online store.
A general statement is not possible here due to the tolerances of the tire manufacturers’ width specifications. E.g. fit Schwalbe tires up to 2.4, VEE up to 2.35 and Maxxis up to 2.5WT.
Due to the large selection of components and frame sizes, we cannot make a statement for all combinations. However, we have given weights for our build kits, which you can see in the table above. In the configurator you will also find weight information for each component.
No, we only offer the components and color variants that we show in the configurator.
Carbon raw is a real beauty! The frames are getting a special treatment before we paint them so the carbon surface, which is shining through the paint, is showing its best side. Besides the clear paint there is also a light dark coating applied. This results in a light dark shine of carbon material, especially in sunlight. Each model is different so every method and also materials will differ. That also means every single frame is a unique.
